About Lesson

Powerpoint is a presentation aid creation software from Microsoft Office.  A presentation is an activity through which conveying information in attractive, understandable or efficient manner.  Default file name of powerpoint is presentation and extension is .pptx.

A Powerpoint presentation can have many slides.  Slide is the electronic page or workarea into which content can be placed.  Powerpoint workarea is free workare where we can place any object and modify them independent of other objects.

Different views of Presentation:

Normal: This is the default working view in which we can see all the slides in the presentation as thumbnails at left side pane and the current slide in work area.

Slide Sorter: This view is generally useful to re arrange or view total slides in the presentation

Notes : This view is useful for the presenter to prepare and use notes while showing a particular slide.

Outline: this view displays the content of the presentation in outline or hierarchical view

Slide Show: this is used to show the slides of the presentation full screen.

Every presentation opens with a single slide with title layout and in normal view.  A layout is a model that is guiding how to place or design a particular slide with some virtual elements.  The elements are called virtual because those are not actual objects to be printed or shown on screen.

The layout elements can be used or come into birth by editing them.  You can also move, resize or remove the layout elements.   We can have some layout elements and some desired elements on the slide.  Even we can change entire layout.
