Paragraph level formatting options will be applied to the current paragraph when nothing is selected.  Select the number of paragraphs to apply formatting styles for more than one paragraph.

  1. Alignment: Specifies the arrangement of lines in the paragraph with respect to the boundary of the paragraph. In Pagemaker alignments are applied with respect to the width of the text object. 
    1. Types of Alignment:

            Left: First letters in each line of the paragraph to be aligned.  Cursor appears left initially and moves towards right. (KBS: Ctrl+shift+L)

  1. Right: Last letters in each line of the paragraph to be aligned. Cursor appears right initially and moves towards left.  (KBS: Ctrl+shift+R)
  2. Center: Middle letters in each line of the paragraph to be aligned. Cursor appears center initially and moves towards left while text is extending in both sides. (KBS: Ctrl+shift+C)
  3. Justify: Both left and right ends of the paragraph to be aligned. Cursor appears left initially and moves towards right. (KBS: Ctrl+shift+J)

Indentation: Indent is the space maintaining by the paragraph with respect to the margins

Types of Indents:

Left: space between left margin and all the lines in the paragraph

Right: space between right margin and all the lines in the paragraph

First Line: space between left margin and first line of the paragraph

Hanging: space between left margin and remaining lines except first line

 

One text object can be split into number of objects and we can also combine individual text objects into single object.

 

 

Line Spacing: Space between two lines in the paragraph.

 

Paragraph Spacing: Space between two paragraphs in the story
