To insert symbols provided by Windows Fonts and Anu Script we can use Character Map

To open Character map:

StartàProgramsàAccessoriesàsystem ToolsàCharacter Map

Select a fontàSelect a symbolàcopy (ctrl+C)àpaste in your publication with Type tool

These symbols are text only, hence all font formatting are supported.
